Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 May 2026. Version 2.0.
The plain English version The Almanac is a paid AI companion that helps you reflect, plan, and get on top of forms and life admin. It is NOT therapy, NOT medical advice, and NOT a crisis service. If you are in crisis call 999 or Samaritans on 116 123. By signing up you agree to use the service sensibly and you accept that we cannot be responsible for things that are not our fault. Cancellation is one tap.
Important: not medical advice The Almanac is a wellbeing companion, not a healthcare provider. Nothing we say is medical, legal, or financial advice. If you have a health concern, talk to a GP, your therapist, or a clinician. If you are in crisis, call 999 (UK), the Samaritans on 116 123, or your local crisis service.

1. Who we are

The Almanac is operated by Conscious Wellness Collective Limited (company number 16976097), a company registered in England and Wales.

Registered office: Belmont Suite, Paragon Business Park, Chorley New Road, Bolton, Lancashire, BL6 6HG, United Kingdom.

These Terms form a contract between you (the user) and Conscious Wellness Collective Limited (we, us, The Almanac).

2. The service

The Almanac provides:

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We will tell you at least 30 days in advance if a change is significant.

3. Eligibility

To use The Almanac you must:

4. Trial and subscription

Free 7-day trial

New users get a 7-day free trial with full access. We do not require card details to start. On Day 6 we ask you, once, if you want to continue. If you say yes you add a payment method. If you say no, you can stay in touch through our free communications but the in-app service ends.

Subscription pricing

One product, two billing options:

There are no tiers, no add-ons, and no upsells inside the product. What you pay for is everything we offer.

Billing

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe Payments UK, Ltd. We never see or store your full card details. You can cancel any time from your account page with a single tap. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not refund partial months unless you have a legal right to a refund (for example, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations within 14 days of first payment).

Cancellation rights — DMCCA 2024

We are committed to the spirit and letter of the UK Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024. That means:

Price changes

If we change prices, we give you at least 30 days notice. Existing subscribers keep their current price for at least 6 months from the notice date.

Hardship

If you cannot afford the subscription but need the service, email hello@thealmanac.co.uk. We have a hardship route. Nobody who needs the service is turned away because of money.

5. What you can and cannot do

You can

You cannot

6. Your content

You own everything you send into The Almanac — your check-ins, your messages, your reminders, your form photos. You give us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content for the purpose of running the service for you. We do not claim ownership of your content and we do not use it to train AI.

7. How the AI works

The Almanac is built on large language models. Specifically, our AI companion responds using Anthropic's Claude with our own prompt, persona, and safety layers wrapped around it. Voice features use ElevenLabs.

Responses are generated by AI based on your messages, your check-ins, and your context. They are not medical advice, legal advice, financial advice, or any kind of professional opinion. The AI is good at noticing patterns, drafting messages, and being there. It is not infallible.

You can always ask how a specific response was generated and whether a human reviewed it. We will tell you.

8. Crisis situations

The Almanac is not a crisis service. If the AI detects that you may be in immediate danger, it will:

The Almanac cannot dispatch help, cannot contact your family without permission, and cannot replace urgent medical or psychological care. If you are in crisis, call 999 or 116 123 right now.

9. Privacy and data

How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Policy. By using The Almanac, you accept that policy. The Privacy Policy explains your rights under the UK GDPR, our sub-processors, international transfers, and how to contact our Data Protection Lead.

10. Service availability

We aim for 99% uptime, but we cannot guarantee it. We may take the service down for maintenance, upgrades, or because of issues outside our control. We will try to give notice for planned downtime via email and our status page.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law:

12. Termination

You can cancel your account at any time from your account page or by emailing hello@thealmanac.co.uk.

We can suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms (for example, by harassing others, attempting to break the service, or providing false information). We will usually warn you first unless the breach is serious. On termination by us for breach, no refund is due. On termination by you, your data is preserved for 30 days then permanently deleted (see Privacy Policy Section 6).

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new Terms. If you do not accept the new Terms, you may cancel before the change takes effect with a full refund of any unused portion of your subscription.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be heard in the courts of England and Wales. Consumers may also be entitled to bring claims in their local courts and to refer disputes to the European Online Dispute Resolution platform where applicable.
